Issue Mapping Portal For Kerala
- Citizen/User Contributed Issue Map portal for Kerala.
It will be an umbrella portal to pool different issues falling under the categories of human rights, the environment, land rights, etc.
The Issue Mapping site will be working in two modes:
- Registered users of the site will mark and posts issues to the site concerning their locality, say bloggers and other internet users.
- A network of colleges will be drawn into the project and the students will start contributing issues to the site, from their field work programme( Social Science Students).
- Also NGO's and other activist groups will be invited to make issue map of their area of working, we will provide the technical support and space support. So there will also be micro sites like this (childmissing.issuemapping.in) as branches.
What we have done
- The basic site is up: www.issuemapping.in.
- 30 students of MSW Programme have gone to the field and collected different issues that will fall in broad categories.
Time Frame
- April 29, 2010: there will be 20 issues reported in site with accurate information, pictures and video.
- Getting the feed back from number of people, introducing it in seminars etc.*
Future course of Action
- As data start to flow in to the site there will be further rethinking how to go ahead, and which mode of activism we have to we shift in.
